White House Decries 'Democrat Fabrication' as More Jeffrey Epstein Photos Made Public
Democratic lawmakers have released a new tranche of what they labeled "alarming" images from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—plus another 70 unveiled later on Friday constitute a minuscule portion of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is looking into the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor was a victim of an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking offenses.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the opening set are celebrities featuring film director Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump appears in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are obscured.
White House Statement
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false account."
"This Democratic fabrication against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a presidential representative said, asserting that "this presidency has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by repeatedly calling for openness, releasing numerous documents of documents, and urging more inquiries into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Panel Member Comment
The photographs were disclosed without context, but according to a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to stop this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a comment.
The release of these documents coincides with the oversight committee pressing on with its probe into the Epstein case.
