Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
