Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
