Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have hit Russia's Bashneft facility in Ufa, positioned approximately 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, resulting in blasts and a fire, per a source in Ukraine's Security Service.

Energy Repair Efforts in the Capital

Operations carried on on the weekend to recover electricity in the Ukrainian capital, after assaults.

Electricity had been returned to over 800,000 residents by Saturday and the major power firm said the key efforts to restore power was complete though some outages persisted.

Anti-Aircraft Efforts and UAV Interceptions

Ukraine's defense forces intercepted or jammed 54 of seventy-eight Russian drones sent towards Ukraine overnight, the aerial defense command reported on the weekend.

Russia's military authorities stated it shot down 42 enemy drones over Russian territory.

Cuban Government Refutes Allegations of Sending Troops to the War

Havana on Saturday refuted US allegations it has deployed soldiers to participate in the conflict in Ukraine, while stating Cuban authorities "do not have precise information about individuals" engaged "voluntarily" or "as part of the armed units of either party".

The government department in Havana stated 26 Cubans had been sentenced to incarceration varying between five to 14 years for participating as mercenaries since September 2023 when information spread of Cubans being sent to the battlefield in the conflict.

Surrender Initiative Program Reports Information on Cuban Involvement

The surrender initiative, a state program that urges opposing fighters to give up, reported in spring: "We reliably know the identities and information of 1,028 Cuban nationals who signed contracts with the Russian military in recently."

The Cuban foreign ministry stated of Cuban nationals who might be engaged: "Undeniably that no individual possesses the support, commitment, or consent of the government in Havana for their involvement."
