Ex- BBC Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Inquiry In the Wake of Claims of Bias in Leaked Document
We start with questions from Conservative MP the panel's head, that oversees the committee.
She opens by providing details to the unauthorized memo authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the BBC tilting in any particular direction, I just want it straight, impartial and equitable," he states.
When asked whether he thinks the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he answers: "No I don't. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC produces is top-tier - including informative and entertainment programming."
However, he continues: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."
Another previous consultant BBC adviser interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "ongoing system and active debate" regarding evolving and intricate subjects.
"Did the BBC prepared to conduct a genuine dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she asks herself. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
