A female charged with stalking Kate McCann apparently deposited her a voicemail message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has persistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges charged with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February 2025.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard call records and data obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate phone message, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The tribunal was told that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a bid to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with law enforcement who compiled the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted close associates of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg developed a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in last December.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the months before the appearance to the village, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in last November, considering trying to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a dining venue.

"We need to assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.
